Eco-Lighthouse Foundation - Making environmental certification easier
How do you make environmental certification easier to understand? For Eco-Lighthouse Foundation, we developed a new website featuring an interactive guide, scrollytelling and clear user journeys to help more businesses get started.

Eco-Lighthouse FoundationAbout the project
Eco-Lighthouse Foundation runs Norway’s most widely used environmental certification scheme for businesses. Yet understanding what certification involves can be challenging. How much does it cost? What requirements apply? How long does it take? And why should a business become certified?
These questions became the starting point for our concept. We wanted to make the journey from initial interest to registration as straightforward as possible.
The result is a new website with an interactive guide, clear user journeys and a homepage that uses scrollytelling to engage visitors.
Good Morning was responsible for the concept, UX and technical development. The website was designed by Jørgen Winsnes, while Rocket supported tracking, analytics and SEO. Eco-Lighthouse Foundation produced the content. The website is built with Craft CMS.
We are very pleased with Good Morning’s work throughout the project. You have been exceptionally proactive and capable partners, delivering quality, pragmatism, follow-up and execution at every stage. It is such a pleasure to work with an agency that actually delivers more than it promises in the pitch :-)
The centrepiece of the new website is an interactive guide. Through an integration with the Norwegian Register of Business Enterprises, users can look up their own company among more than one million Norwegian businesses. They then answer a few simple questions and receive tailored information about the benefits of certification, relevant requirements, the process and its cost. The guide helps visitors make an informed decision and take the next step.
The interactive guide can be launched directly from the homepage or from any button or link across the website. It opens in a modal, so users can stay on the page they are visiting.
We also built the guide as a standalone content module that can be placed anywhere on the site. The module automatically loads default copy and imagery, but editors can override both in Craft CMS. This lets Eco-Lighthouse Foundation adapt the presentation of the guide to each page while maintaining a single, consistent guide.
We believe engaging users is more effective than simply presenting static information. An engaging experience can make the message more memorable and help strengthen the brand.
That is why we developed the homepage around scrollytelling, with animations and visual transitions taking visitors through the benefits of Eco-Lighthouse certification. The result is a more dynamic experience that encourages people to keep scrolling.
We developed a flexible form solution that allows forms to be opened from any button or link on the website. Forms appear in a modal, allowing them to work throughout the site without having to adapt each page’s layout.
This is particularly useful for municipalities, corporate groups and organisations, which can register their interest directly from relevant pages. Enquiries are sent to SuperOffice so Eco-Lighthouse Foundation’s advisers can follow up.
We integrated both the consultant directory and the list of certified organisations directly with Eco-Lighthouse Foundation’s own systems. With around 12,000 certified businesses and numerous filtering options, performance is essential.
We therefore focused heavily on optimising search and filtering so visitors get fast results even when querying large datasets. The result is a smooth experience where users can filter and explore certified businesses without noticeable delays.
